A wish won't add

Updated October 30, 2026

Here's what to try for each message you might see.

"Something went wrong"

"Something went wrong. Please try again later." in the app, or "Something went wrong. Please try again." on the web, means Wishes couldn't save the wish. Adding a wish needs an internet connection.

  1. Check you're online. Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
  2. Save the wish again. It's still in the form, so you don't need to start over.

Some stores don't let other apps read their pages, and some links aren't a product page, like a search or a home page. Wishes keeps the link, but you can't save the wish until it has a name.

  • Type a name for the wish, then save. The link stays on the wish.
  • Add a photo yourself: in the app, tap the photo button to take a picture or choose one from your photos.
  • Open the product itself, not a search or category page, and copy its link again.
  • On iPhone, open the product in Safari, tap the share button and choose Add to Wishes.

On the web you'll see "We couldn't get the details from this link. Add a name to save it." or "We couldn't find a name on this page. Add one to save it."

What's in the link field isn't a full web address. Copy the link again from the store's share button or your browser's address bar, so it starts with https://. On Android, the link field turns red instead.

A wish doesn't need a link at all: you can type a name and save it.

A photo won't upload on the web

The web takes JPEG, PNG or WebP images up to 8 MB. Save the picture in one of those formats and try again.
