How do I add a wish from a photo?
Updated October 27, 2026
Spotted something you'd love in a shop window or at a friend's place? Take a photo and Snap a wish fills in the wish for you.
Snap a wish is in the Wishes app on iPhone and Android. It isn't on the website.
Snap a wish
- Open your wishlist and tap the + button.
- Tap Snap a wish.
- Choose Camera to take a photo, or Photo Library (on Android, Gallery) to pick one you already have.
- Wishes shows "Looking at your photo…" and then "Finding where to buy it…". It names the item, writes a short description and looks for up to three shops that sell it.
- Under Where to buy, pick a shop to put its link and pictures on the wish. Or tap Use my photo to keep your own photo.
- Check the name and details, change anything you like, then save.
If you don't see Snap a wish, update Wishes from the App Store or Google Play.
Good to know
- Snap a wish is for new wishes. It doesn't change a wish you've already saved.
- Your photo goes on the wish straight away. If Wishes can't find the item online, you'll see "We couldn’t find this one online. Your photo stays on the wish." Add a name and save it as it is.
- It won't recognize everything, so check the name and the shop link before you save.
- Wishes doesn't save prices. If the price matters, add it to the comment.
- It's free. Everyone gets 10 snaps a day. When yours are used up, you'll see "You’ve used today’s snaps. Try again tomorrow."
- Now and then you might see "Snap a wish is taking a break until tomorrow." Try again the next day, or paste a link instead.
